XXX NOTE FOR ALL CLASSES. XXX For the 2012 season back protectors  are to be a highly recomended item of  rider protection. For 2013 they will be a compulsory item for all classes where full leathers  must be worn  and again highly recomended for all other classes.

All Classes:
ALL numbers must be clearly visible to the timekeeper. If the number is not visible a timed run will not be recorded. If a rider or bike has entered more than one class the rider must remove or strike through numbers from other classes so that only one set of numbers are visible.
IMPORTANT: If there is more than one number visible, ie, D5 and 467, the class number will be used, ie, 467.

If you bike has a rounded back to the back of the bike, ie. hayabusa, put numbers on both sides of the bike if there is no registration plate to use.

A rider may swap his/her bike if the first one has broken down during the qualifications, but must re-qualify on their second bike. A rider cannot swap bikes in the eliminations.
Please note that at some of the venues that Straightliners event take place are NOISE RESTRICTED events.
Competion bikes/ Top bikes/ 9.1 and Pro USB. 106dB.
All other classes 101dB
Road going classes must not exceed 98dB 

Top Bike Class including Outlaw bikes.

Riders are allowed to run any of the following:

Nitrous. Turbo. Locked or no suspension. Airshifters / Slickshifters Non-working lights
Racing exhaust with silencer (Must comply with current noise limit) DUMP PIPES MUST GO INTO SILENCER ON TURBO BIKES
Non-standard swingarm

Non-standard frame

Non-standard forks

Ignition cut-out lanyard must be fitted and working.

Wheelbase must not exceed 68" or 1730mm for turbo bikes. If only using Nitrous then a wheelbase of up to 70" or 1778mm is allowed.

Outlaw bikes must have the ability to reach a minimum wheel base of 74 inches 1880mm (E.G 74” or longer) as presented at the track.


Nitrous bikes to reduce the un-burnt fuel exploding on gear changes, loud bangs on gear shifts will result in the bike not being allowed to run at that event until the noise is re-duced to a level deemed acceptable by the clerk of the course.

Full leathers must be worn along with leather boots; gloves and an ACU approved helmet with a visible 2 ringed ACU gold sticker.

Competition Class Competition Class.

Riders in Competition class are allowed to run any of the following:

Nitrous. Turbo. (Must comply with current noise limit) DUMP PIPES MUST GO INTO SILENCER ON TURBO BIKES
Locked or no suspension.

Airshifters / Slickshifters

Racing exhaust with silencer (Must comply with current noise limit)

Non-standard frame

Non-standard forks

Wheelbase at rider discretion.

Competition class must run a slick tyre drag racing tyre and wheelie bars.

Ignition cut-out lanyard must be fitted and working.


Nitrous bikes to reduce the un-burnt fuel exploding on gear changes, loud bangs on gear shifts will result in the bike not being allowed to run at that event until the noise is re-duced to a level deemed acceptable by the clerk of the course.

Riders must have recognised history and previously run below 10 seconds over a quarter mile.

Full leathers must be worn along with leather boots; gloves and an ACU approved helmet with a visible 2 ringed gold sticker

 

8.50 BIKE. Including Outlaw type bikes. (As per ACU 2012 handbook)

A class for machines complying with the general and safety regulations.

Standing Regulations as per Competition Bike.

10.1 CLUTCH AND PRIMARY TRANSMISSION

Any type, make or pattern of clutch assembly and/or drive chain/belt may be installed.

10.2 ENGINE

Aftermarket cases must have the same number of cylinder studs as OEM motorcycle manufacture

and located within 2mm of stock position, twin or v8 engines excepted.

10.3 EXHAUST

Any make or type of exhaust system allowed. No flexible pipe allowed. (Must comply with current noise limit)

10.4 FRAME

1 Frame may be original factory equipment, altered or modified at the owner’s discretion, or

of tubular type frame construction. All butt welds must have visible reinforcement, and no

grinding or filling of welds is permitted.

2 It is not permitted to use the engine as a stressed member of the frame.

10.5 MUDGUARDS

1 Are not compulsory, but if fitted must be constructed of material with no sharp edges, and

must be securely fitted to the machine.

2 If a stock front mudguard is removed, and an aftermarket item used, a fork brace of adequate

dimensions must be fitted on machines weighing 205kg and over.

10.6 SEAT

Must be securely attached to frame, and be so constructed as to prevent slipping backwards from the

proper seating position. Any padding used must be securely attached.

10.7 SUPERCHARGERS/TURBOCHARGERS

1 May be fitted at the owner’s discretion.

2 It is recommended that a guard be fitted over the belt drive on superchargers mounted in front

of the engine.

3 Where a supercharger is mounted behind the engine, such a guard is mandatory.

4 Where a supercharger is chain driven, guards of 3mm thick dural or equivalent strength, are

the minimum requirement, irrespective of the position of the unit.

5 Explosion proof blankets fully surrounding the supercharger are highly recommended.

10.8 FRONT TYRE

Front tyres to be of road type, minimum specification ‘V’ rated or racing tyre specification.

10.9 WHEELS

1 All wire spoked wheels must utilise steel spokes of adequate strength and properly laced.

2 Wheels manufactured for cars may be used providing the fitting to the machine is of sound

engineering.

3 All wheels must run true and all bearings must be in good condition.

4 Balance weights must be securely attached.

5 Maximum 10" tyre

10.10 WHEELBASE

At the owner’s discretion.

 


9.1 Class

Riders in 9.1 class are allowed to run any of the following:

Nitrous/ Turbo.

Locked up suspension.

Airshifters / Slickshifters

Non-working lights (but they must be fitted)

Racing exhaust with silencer.  (Must comply with current noise limit)DUMP PIPES MUST GO INTO SILENCER ON TURBO BIKES

Non-standard swingarm.

Standard frame.

Tie Downs allowed.

 

Wheelbase must not exceed 68" or 1730mm

Bikes to retain standard appearance

Nitrous bikes to reduce the un-burnt fuel exploding on gear changes, loud bangs on gear shifts will result in the bike not being allowed to run at that event until the noise is re-duced to a level deemed acceptable by the clerk of the course.

Ignition cut out lanyards must be fitted and working on all bikes running nitrous or turbo.

Full leathers must be worn along with leather boots, gloves and an ACU approved hel-met with a visible 2 ringed gold sticker.

10.1 Class

No Turbo / Nitrous  (unless the turbo is standard for that bike e.g. Kawasaki GPZ 750 turbo).
Standard frame and forks.

Non-standard swingarms (eg long) are allowed.

Roadside pump petrol only.

If a bike is designed to have shock absorbers fitted then they must be fitted and in good working order.

Machines must be fitted with a silencer and must not exceed 101dB

Air shifters and quick-shifters allowed

Tie Downs are allowed

Street fighter type bike allowed.
Leather boots, gloves, one piece or two piece zip together leathers, ACU approved helmet with a visible 2 ringed gold sticker must be worn. (Full leathers are highly recommended)

11.1 Class

Standard frame and forks.

Only standard swinging arms allowed.

Roadside pump petrol only.

If a bike is designed to have shock absorbers fitted then they must be fitted and in good working order.

Machines must be fitted with a silencer and must not exceed 101dB
Gear changes by normal clutch and gear lever. No airshifters or quickshifters.

Tie downs are allowed.

.Street fighter type bikes allowed

One piece or two piece zip together leathers are required. Leather boots, gloves, ACU approved helmet with a visible gold sticker must be worn.

(Full leathers are highly recommended).

Bikes of a proven performance (based on previous year’s entries) which will not be allowed in the 11.1 class are:- Hayabusa, ZX12R and ZZR1400.

 

Ultimate Streetbike Unlimited cc

This is a heads up racing class for road legal bikes.

Standard un-opened engines and standard unmodified ECU’s.

 

1) No power adders E.G Turbo/nitrous
2) Standard wheelbase - no lengthened arms
3) Lowering allowed
4) Non - standard gearing allowed
5) All standard lights and instruments to be retained
6) Machine to be capable of a full MOT (not daylight MOT)
7) Foot operated quick shifters allowed. (Air shifters NOT allowed)

8) Any road legal exhaust system and must not exceed 98dB (this also includes a power commander / dyno jet kit for fuel correction)
9) Non-standard wheels and tyres allowed providing road legal i.e. No slicks.
10) Standard bodywork (no race fairings) to be retained but non-standard screens allowed.

 

Ultimate Streetbike Up to 1175cc.

This is a heads up racing class for road legal bikes.

Standard un-opened engines and standard unmodified ECU’s.


1) No power adders E.G Turbo/nitrous
2) Standard wheelbase - no lenghtened arms
3) Lowering allowed
4) Non - standard gearing allowed
5) All standard lights and instruments to be retained
6) Machine to be capable of a full MOT (not daylight MOT)
7) Foot operated quick shifters allowed. (Air shifters NOT allowed)

8) Any road legal exhaust system and must not exceed 98dB  (this also includes a power commander / dyno jet kit for fuel correction)
9) Non-standard wheels and tyres allowed providing road legal i.e. No slicks.
10) Standard bodywork (no race fairings) to be retained but non-standard screens allowed.



Ultimate Streetbike Up to 750cc.

This is a heads up racing class for road legal bikes.

Standard un-opened engines and standard unmodified ECU’s.


1) No power adders E.G Turbo/nitrous
2) Standard wheelbase - no lengthened arms
3) Lowering allowed
4) Non - standard gearing allowed
5) All standard lights and instruments to be retained
6) Machine to be capable of a full MOT (not daylight MOT)
7) Foot operated quick shifters allowed. (Air shifters NOT allowed)

8) Any road legal exhaust system and must not exceed 98dB  (this also includes a power commander / dyno jet kit for fuel correction)
9) Non-standard wheels and tyres allowed providing road legal i.e. No slicks.
10) Standard bodywork (no race fairings) to be retained but non-standard screens allowed.



Pro Ultimate Streetbike Class.

This class has been replaced by 8.50 class

 
A time slot system will be operated so that every rider has chance of the same amount of racing time.

Classes 9.10, Pro Ultimate Streetbike, Top Bike and Competiton will run every hour on the half hour. All other classes will run in between. Any changes to this will be advised at the meeting.
In the interests of safety all vans and enclosed trailers should have a fire extinguisher.

There will be no racing back after completing your run.
Maximum return speed is 30mph at all events.
No wheelie bars or traction compound. (Except Competition and Outlaw classes).
Tires must have a minimum tread depth of 2mm.
Cut slicks are not permitted. No racing tires. (Except Competition and Outlaw classes).
Paddock racing.: Offenders will be given one warning prior to being banned from the meeting.

Noise.: Riders creating a nuisance at any meeting will be given one warning prior to being banned.

Eye protection : A visor must be used at all times when racing.
 
Between the cut-off time and eliminators the bikes will 'run for fun'.
Qualification cut off is 3pm unless advised otherwise.
Riders can keep their normal numbers after this time, but the timekeeper will input the numbers prefixed with letter D and the times will then appear in results for the Demo Class. There will be no more changes to class positions and riders will not be able to break out whilst it is 'run for fun'.

Lane choice:
Elimination lane choice goes to the best performer in the previous round (it goes to the best qualifier in the first round).
 
Complaint:
If there is a complaint regarding an infringement of the class rules then the complaint must be accompanied with the fee of £30 and given to the Clerk of the course, if the complaint is upheld then the fee will be returned, if the complaint is not upheld then the fee is forfeited and goes in to the prize fund for that year.
Disputes :
Any rider to have a dispute in this series must take his/ her grievance to the Clerk of The Course for that meeting. In any dispute the decision of the Clerk of the Course and the Timekeeper is final.

All riders must become members even if it is just as a day member. Mechanics wishing to enter the restricted race area must become members. They will be issued some form of identity so that the Marshalls can then let them in. Mechanics must sign on at each meeting.
A rider can only have a Demo number if their best time is within 0.3 of the class index at a cost of £5.
New members running with turbo or Nitrous must run an observed 1/8th mile run before they are allowed to compete over 1/4 mile
Registration / Signing on:
All riders must complete one registration prior to or at the begining of each new season. The requested details must be provided  prior to racing. This applies to both members and non-members.
Membership and licence:
All memberships and IOPD licences run from 1st January to 31st December, .
Licences:
Each rider must produce their full/provisonal driving licence when registering to race. All riders must hold an ACU or IOPD licence before racing. Competition li-cences IOPD race licences can be purchaced on the day at a cost of £15


ELVINGTON and EAST KIRBY. (Other tracks may be added to this list as required to keep events running)

 

Noise testing will be carried out on all bikes at Elvington, riders will not be allowed on track until this has been completed.
The test will be carried out at 500mm and 45degrees from the end of the exhaust pipe with the engine running at 4500rpm
A sticker recording the noise level will be placed on your machine if the machine passes the test.
If a machine is deemed to be too loud on track it will be brought in and re-tested if the re-test gives a different reading than the one on the bikes sticker, the rider will be asked to remedy the fault before a re-test, if the bike fails the re-test then bike and rider will take no further part in the event.
